Pistang Pilipino

A National Celebration of Filipino Pride in Aotearoa

[ ABOUT US ]

Pistang Pilipino is a nationwide Filipino festival held annually over Labour Weekend, bringing together Filipino communities from across Aotearoa New Zealand. It was initiated by the Federation of Filipino Associations, Societies and Clubs in New Zealand Inc. (FFASCNZI) as a way to celebrate our shared heritage, strengthen community bonds, and pass on Filipino culture to future generations.

More than just a weekend event, Pistang Pilipino is a living expression of bayanihan – the spirit of helping one another, celebrating together, and staying connected no matter how far from home we may be.

For 2026, Pistang Pilipino will be hosted and organized by Streams of Life in partnership with FFASCNZI. As the official event host, Streams of Life is leading the coordination, planning, and delivery of this national celebration – ensuring a memorable and meaningful experience for every participant, delegate, and visitor.

Based in Wellington, Streams of Life is deeply committed to serving the Filipino community through outreach programs, cultural initiatives, and community development activities. Their involvement as host strengthens the festival’s mission of unity, inclusivity, and cultural pride.

Our Story
Pistang Pilipino was created to give Filipinos in New Zealand a dedicated space to:

👉Showcase talent, sportsmanship, and creativity
👉Build stronger connections with wider New Zealand society

Each year, a different host city takes the lead in welcoming delegates from all over the country. The festival has grown into a major highlight of the Filipino calendar in Aotearoa, eagerly anticipated by athletes, performers, volunteers, and supporters alike.
